The main objective of the payment schedule changes is to provide financial assistance to the SSI beneficiaries earlier, especially when normal payment dates fall on weekends or holidays such as for February 2025, individuals can expect to get their SSI payment on 31 January 2025.

SSI Payment Schedule Changes 2025

In the United States, the Social Security Administration (SSA) recently unveiled important changes to the payment schedule of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for 2025 that can affect more than 70 million claimants. The announced changes are basically designed to distribute benefit payment amounts timely with a new 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA).

The new payment schedule can provide an increased amount of benefits earlier to qualifying retirees, individuals with disabilities, and several other individuals living in the United States. For example, the February SSI payment will be delivered on 31 January 2025, whereas the March payment will be provided on 28 February 2025.

Same as in May 2025, SSI beneficiaries will be able to receive two payments, first on May 1, 2025 whereas second SSI payment will be provided on May 30, 2025. It is because June 1, 2025  is going to fall on the weekend.
