Last year, Carlos Dias Jr. filed a complaint against Acrisure’s data security incident, which later turned into a class action as all the Plaintiffs filed the action in 17th Judicial District Kent County alleging that Acrisure failed to protect the user’s personal information from the 2022 data breach.
According to the class action, Acrisure failed to implement cybersecurity measures to protect user’s information, which made the users vulnerable to online financial scams. The defendants deny all the allegations and wrongdoings but they have agreed to pay compensation sum which is not made public yet.
People living in the US who suffered inconvenience due to the 2022 Acrisure data breach will receive compensation as the settlement is preliminarily approved, but first, they have to submit the claim form.
According to the settlement agreement, the class members who wish to receive the cash benefit under the Acrisure Data Breach settlement should submit the claim form to the settlement administrator before 14 November 2024.

Who is eligible for the Acrisure Data Breach Settlement?
People living in the US who fulfill the following eligibility requirements are class members of the Ascrisure Data breach class action settlement and submit the claim to receive the cash benefit:
- All the US residents whose personal information was affected by the 2022 Acrisure Data security incident.
- The successors or assigned persons of the affected person can also submit the claim form.
Exclusions:
- The Acrisure officers, employees, and directors are excluded from the settlement.
- The Judges of the case and the immediate family and staff of the Judges can’t claim the settlement.
- The Acrisure class members who chose to exclude or object to the settlement will not receive the compensation amount.
Acrisure Data Breach Settlement Payout Amount
The Acrisure will pay the settlement fund which will be used to compensate the class members in the following ways:
- Credit Monitoring Services: Under the Acrisure settlement agreement, the class members can enroll in two years of credit monitoring services and include credit monitoring with their national credit reporting bureau and identity theft insurance (at least $1,000,000).
- Cash Benefits:
- The claimants will receive the cash benefit concerning their loss of time and money due to the data breach in eliminating the risk of personal information leak or financial scam.
- According to the settlement agreement, the loss of money compensation amount is proposed at $4000 for each claimant with valid documents showing actual loss caused due to the 2022 security incident between 01 Dec 2022 and the end of the claim period.
- The class members who spent monitoring their accounts or engaged in eliminating the potential threat due to the security incident will receive a compensation of $25 for each hour spent for four hours.
Apart from the class members, the class counsel, attorney fees & cost, settlement administration & notice cost, and class representatives service awards will be paid by the defendant through the settlement fund before disbursing the fund to the class members.

When will you receive the Acrisure data settlement payment?
The class members of the Acrisure Data Breach settlement who will submit the claim form before the deadline will receive the cash benefit after their application approval and court approval on the fairness of the settlement.
The final approval hearing of the Acrisure Data breach security settlement is scheduled for 08 November 2024, if the court approves the settlement, the administrator will process the payment as soon as possible, maybe in 180 days.
